My 5 1/2 yr old daughter has been great during the day.-she can go almost 4 hrs without stopping to use the bathroom. Daytime is great for her. School is fine. At night is another story-we try to limit drinking at night. I make her potty before bed, I take her about 2 hrs later and I have an alarm set for her to get up 2-3 hrs later and go. I usually take her. Sometimes, she is already wet when that alarm goes off. Then If I am able :) I get back up with her 2 hrs later and she may or may not be wet again. I am wondering where all of this liquid is coming from...if she does not drink that much before bed? Usually drinks milk for supper - or water. If we eat fairly early we let her have iced tea (mostly decaf). Should I have her thyroid tested? or blood sugar? She does not seem to be over thirsty at night or get up to drink. She is a VERY sound sleeper. Concerned Mom.

It may be surprising to learn that 1 out of 4 kids at the age of 5 wet the bed. So it is not abnormal for a child at her age. Most doctors will not have any concerns about bedwetting until the age of 6 or 7. There are many things you, as a parent, can do to manage the condition and diminish its impact of you and your family. One thing would be to avoid caffeinated drinks if at all possible To help you understand your options, check out Bedwetting Education > Causes and Treatments.
