What daytime talk show do you think would be the best show to bring bedwetting out of the closet? Oprah, Regis, Ellen, Dr. Phil etc.
Although bedwetting is most often a physical condition, it can have profound psychological effects. This is why I feel the Dr. Phil show would be the proper forum for this subject. Dr. Phil may be straightforward and to the point, but he is also compassionate and caring. I think he could give this topic the dignity it deserves.
- Mara
Dr. Phil would be my first bet. Oprah the second. I would NOT think Regis or Ellen (both of whom I like) are good for this topic.
- Cindy
I think oprah would be best. Regis is good. I don't know much about Dr. Phil. Ellen, who is good, would make a joke of it, and it's not really a laughing matter. It would be nice to see Oprah discuss it and it may even provide some helpful solutions as well.
- Anna
I think that Dr. Phil would be a good show to talk about bedwetting. I really like to watch Dr. Phil and value his opinion. My brother used to wet the bed and they found out that he had a milk allergy.
- Teresa
Definitely Dr. Phil. He has the degree in psychology and can help with many parents' questions and concerns about this topic.
- Carla
I think that Ellen would do a great job with her lighthearted show. Children can watch it too. I think she should talk about all the options from Pull-Ups® to diapers to cotton training pants.
- Debi
Dr. Phil and Oprah. These two shows are sincere in helping people with their problems.
- Joanne
This is definitely a Dr. Phil issue. But I would suggest maybe a joint venture with one of the top pediatricians like T. Berry Brazelton so they could discuss the medical and psychological issues.
- Jenny
Dr. Phil would be my choice for this topic. He seems like a very caring and understanding guy! He seems to get the message across on his other shows. I think he would be great with the kids also!
- Chris
I would have said Rosie O'Donnell, because she worked more with kids than any other talk show host I've seen, but as she is no longer on the air I'd have to say Oprah. I don't think the others would hold the credibility that she does.
- Michelle
I believe Dr. Phil would be the best. Ellen is funny so I don't think the subject would be a good fit for her. Same with Regis & Kelly – their show is a morning show, funny and lighthearted. Oprah could do it as well; however, I think Dr. Phil could address it the best.

I would definitely go for Oprah or Dr. Phil. The other shows are too cutesy and funny, rather than informative. I am not sure they would be taken as seriously as Oprah and Dr. Phil. I think maybe Dr. Phil would be able to discuss the emotional effects and reasons for bedwetting, while Oprah might find ways to deal with it. Also, I think Oprah would be able to better tell us how to deal with sleepovers, whether your child is the bedwetter or his friend is. I know I certainly would like to be able to talk to other parents about my child's problem without feeling very uncomfortable or wondering what their child will say if my son has an accident.
- Karol
I believe that Dr. Phil's show would be the best .He deals with family issues so well. He also supports children's needs while on his show.
- Bernice
Dr. Phil is the more sensible, possibly informed person to talk about it. He would also talk about the emotional aspects of bedwetting, and a "can-do" approach. Oprah is a highly respected talk show personality, but I don't feel that she, personally, would be the qualified person. She may have a guest doctor and maybe some families to share. Thank you for asking! Hope to see something soon.

Dr. Phil. He has a way of making people simply understand.
- Abbi
I believe Dr. Phil would be the best. He seems to be able to get right to the point of any problems. And people listen to him!
- Stacy
I think Dr. Phil would be the best show to handle it. He is so helpful with health issues and so professional.

I feel Dr. Phil would be the best host to talk about bedwetting. I feel he is the most down to earth person on talk TV. Also, he has children, unlike Oprah and Ellen, and he seems to have had a lot of one-on-one parenting with his children. Also, I have watched him talk about potty training, and it's tried and true with friends of mine.
- Dee
Dr. Phil should be the obvious choice here because of his credentials and because he seems to do a great job of giving well-rounded perspectives (including opinions which differ from his own) on issues like this one! Thanks for asking us!
- Heidi
I feel Oprah would be a good choice, as she would be most sensitive to the people in her approach of such a delicate subject.
- Laura
I think Dr. Phil. He could also give out ways to help psychologically with the bedwetting problem. Ellen would probably have too many jokes, and I just don't think Oprah would handle the issue correctly.
- Stephany
I think Dr. Phil would be the best daytime talk show to bring bedwetting out of the closet. Dr. Phil is very popular ( I watch him almost everyday myself), and he has done several shows already on children and parenting.
- Teri
I think that Dr. Phil would the wisest choice to discuss bedwetting, because after all, he is a doctor and he is also trained in the emotional aspects of it. To me the others would make light of it, and to some it is a serious matter. Thank you
- Donna
I believe Oprah would be the best bet, because I think she has the largest "Mom" audience.
- Sherlene
Oprah without a doubt! She reaches more people and is respected worldwide!
- Ana
Dr. Phil would be the best considering his background!

Dr. Phil. I think that he is the best in giving advice.
- Donna
Imagine my surprise when I read that one of these talk shows may discuss the topic of bedwetting! It seems to be a hush-hush, taboo topic, and for the children dealing with the problem, it becomes an embarrassment and undermines self-esteem. Hooray for you! I feel that Dr. Phil, of course, would be the right person to address this topic. He is sincere, straightforward and pretty serious about helping people treat others with respect, as well. Bedwetting needs to be talked about in a sensitive, caring environment, and he's the man to do this. He could probably even manage to get some kids on his show to discuss how they feel and how they deal with their problem. I know he would do anything he could to help, as would his wife, Robin. Yes, I would go with Dr. Phil. Oprah would be my next choice. Regis and Ellen are not serious enough to deal with such a sensitive, emotionally-charged subject. By the way, my child is 11 years old and still wets the bed. She is dealing with it pretty well, but overnight trips are tough to deal with and make her doubt herself. Thank you, thank you for addressing this topic. Just be sure to let us all know when such a show might be aired!
- Vera
Oprah, Regis and Dr. Phil! This is a serious platform and needs to be brought up often.
- Anne
I would think Dr. Phil would be the best candidate to start bringing the topic of bedwetting to light. Dr. Phil has already been a advocate for parents on his show for parenting advice. He would not exploit any of the children involved, but help parents with bedwetting. I truly feel bedwetting is still a hushed topic. I have always been very open about bedwetting and have discussed it freely with other mothers. It is surprising how many are dealing with bedwetting and relieved to discuss it with another person. My daughter is 10, and with the help of GoodNites® has had a healthy, happy childhood. I know without the GoodNites® she would have never been able to go to church camp for a week or sleepovers with her friends. I assure my daughter that some day her bedwetting will just be gone and until then she will use GoodNites®. I only hope that any talk show will show that even though bedwetting can be a little inconvenient, a child can grow up self-confident and happy. I only hope that bedwetting will be out in the open for parents. Cancer used to be a closet disease and taboo, and now it is a well-known and talked about topic. I hope someday bedwetting will be as well known. Thank you.
- Sandy
Dr Phil! I think he is the only one that would have constructive information. The others would get experts in and tell us what they think. At least Dr. Phil wouldn't have to get someone else's opinion.
- Karen
Oprah definitely. She has the biggest audience and, for the bad or the good, people take what she has to say like it was gospel, no question. Dr. Phil would be second choice. Regis would just make a joke about it because he would be uncomfortable.
- Chris
Though I rarely have the opportunity to see any of the talk shows, I would prefer to see it discussed on Oprah. Oprah provides a more relaxed and open environment. Oprah has been titled America's favorite girlfriend for a reason. Oprah has the ability to have people open up more comfortably, thus allowing guests to appear to forget they are being interviewed.
- Tasha
I feel Oprah would be the best show to bring bedwetting out of the closet and out in the open for discussion and understanding. I have a 9-year-old still wetting the bed and a 5-year-old who has had no problems. As a mother I would do anything for my 9-year-old to overcome this problem. I feel Oprah would have a positive atmosphere to help our children and parents to understand a little better.
- Brooke
Probably Dr. Phil or Oprah because they tend to deal with the emotional and psychological issues that affect families and relationships. I would love to be involved in a round table type of discussion with other moms if the situation ever presents itself through the media. I have four children (ages 10, 6, 3 and 1), and we have struggled with the challenge of bedwetting. Also, I was a bedwetter, as was my sister, so I am aware of the familial connection. Thanks for the opportunity to share about this common childhood issue!
- Michele
I feel that either Oprah or Dr. Phil would be able to open the closet door on the subject of bedwetting. I believe that either of these hosts has the compassion and concern that would allow not only the guests but the world to accept this fact of life as "normal." Dr. Phil, due to his knowledge and experience with people and his concern for their suffering. And Oprah because of her compassion and genuine interest in people. On the other hand, I do not feel that Regis or Ellen would have the appropriate forum for this subject. Their shows tend to lean more to the light-hearted side of life, and this subject can truly be very unnerving for the children who suffer with it.
- Charity
I think Oprah would be the best because she is compassionate and a very good listener. She also relates well to children and would have great experts to educate us. Her program is watched by millions and would help people become aware this is a more common issue than we realize.
- Karen
Dr. Phil is the show to bring bedwetting out of the closet. He has helped so many people with different problems and concerns. I have been struggling with my son's bedwetting for about three years. His doctor says his bladder is too small and when it gets larger the bedwetting will stop. He is a hard sleeper and nothing wakes him up.
- Kim
I think that all the major talk shows need to address both bedwetting and daytime wetting/accidents as well. I dealt with frequent accidents also while growing up. Incontinence issues are a normal thing for a certain percentage of the population, and all it takes is a little extra management by wearing a diaper system that is best suited to the individual. It's true that openness about this is best for everyone involved, and it's nothing to be embarrassed about...
