My son is 10 years old and my daughter is 5. They both have bedwetting accidents more often than not. My daughter just thinks it is normal because we don't make her feel any differently. With my son, we just explain that it is a medical problem and there is nothing that he can do except try not to drink late at night and to go to the bathroom before he goes to sleep. We have done everything with him - such as medication, waking him up several times during the night, cutting off liquids after a certain time - and none of it seems to work, so I have just decided to wait it out a few more years.
I just believe it is something he will have to grow out of. He did go to overnight camp last year. I packed him his GoodNites® Underpants along with plastic grocery bags, so if he did have an accident then he could put it in the bag and not have to worry about it. He did fine and did not have accidents every night.
I think at home he sleeps deeper and is more comfortable. We always keep GoodNites® Underpants in stock and they are a great help when we go out of town and when he has a sleepover. I am thankful for that. I just think as parents you have to make them realize it is a medical condition and not to make a big deal out of it!
