My name is Saleigh and I'm 16. I have always had problems staying dry at night.
I remember when I was really little I wore baby diapers to keep me dry every night. When I grew out of baby diapers, the only protection I had at night was plastic sheets. For three long years I used plastic sheets to control my nightly accidents.
I remember several problems with plastic sheets. For one they still made a mess so it didn't hide my problem or help my self-esteem. I couldn't go to sleepovers with plastic sheets. Worst of all was when friends were over and sat on my bed and noticed the plastic sheets. That made me cringe with embarrassment.
Thankfully GoodNites® [Underpants] came out with an absorbent pull-up that I have worn every night since I was 11. They are hardly noticeable under PJs, and they have never leaked on me. They have allowed me to do much more. I can go to sleepovers, and I can travel with the soccer team and not worry about wet nights.
I also started recording my progress and documenting any fluids I drank in the evening. In the last few years, I have gone from wetting the bed every single night to only wetting every other night and now only having one or two accidents a week. I also have a normal routine where I put GoodNites® [Underpants] on at about 8 o'clock and I'm in bed by 9 o'clock. I keep the fresh GoodNites® [Underpants] right below the sink so I can change into them right after I use the bathroom before bed. Wearing loose fitting or no PJs at all makes it easier to get to the toilet. In the morning if I'm dry I just put the dry pull-up back under the sink. If I'm wet I clean up.
Well I hope my story brings encouragement to any other teenage bedwetters. And by the way, the new designs are pretty cool!
