The story about the family with nine bedwetters inspired us to write about our trials and travels. We are also a family of 13: three girls and 10 boys. All the boys are or were bedwetters and are all adding comments of their own as we go.

Having so many children and so many bedwetters has been a nightmare and a blessing to my husband and I. However, the children have had it the worst. The fact that so many of them have the problem means that my husband and I sometimes forget they are different people and so have different needs. I remember at one point we found a medication that worked on Shay, and so we tried it on his twin, but it just made Sean sick and I thought, "For goodness sake, they're twins. It would work on both of them." I also remember that when out of no were Kelly stopped wetting the bed I thought "Oh, good. Deseray and McKenzie should be right behind him, because they're all in the same age range." Little did I know that we still had years of bedwetting ahead of them.

We discovered GoodNites® a little late in the process I'm afraid, but when we did, what a relief. My son's confidence went down even lower than it already was when I mentioned it to my youngest, a 14-year-old. They said things about how I was just sick of them wetting the bed and I just wanted to make it easier on me. I must say that this is partly true but I'd heard wonderful things about them and thought this might help.

The GoodNites® finally got tried after a school trip where both Sean and Shay wet the bed. Since then the twins have suggested them to their older siblings and pretty much everyone with the problem, who could fit in a GoodNites® has worn one. The boys are comfortable with themselves, and they have more friends and have become very outgoing.

We also are a closer family because of it because it helps us to work together. We share everything with each other whether we're at the breakfast table and Josh says he stayed dry over night or we're at the dinner table and Ashynd says he hopes he doesn't wet the bed again. We also are always positive, because once you've raised your first child with over 18 years of bedwetting, you realize that in the end they get through it. This also encourages fellow bedwetters when they see that their brothers who wet the bed late into their teens have grown out of it and so will they.

I know that when we no longer have airtight trashcans in our bathrooms and no longer stock GoodNites® by the case we'll all be relieved, but for now we're cherishing our children for who they are and thank GoodNites® for giving us good mornings.
